Quick Wrap: Nifty FMCG Index records a surge of 3.65%, NIFTY climbs 1.58%

Nifty FMCG index ended up 3.65% at 45580 today. The index has added 4.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Marico Ltd jumped 10.00%, Britannia Industries Ltd rose 6.36% and Nestle India Ltd added 4.47%. The Nifty FMCG index has decreased 19.00% over last one year compared to the 7.58% fall in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Realty index increased 2.33% and Nifty India Consumption index increased 2.29% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 increased 1.58% to close at 23810.85 while the SENSEX witnessed a rise of 1.62% to close at 76917.85 today.
