Tata Motors PV climbs after JLR Q2 wholesales jump 24.5% YoY
Oct 05,2026
The significant improvement in wholesale volumes reflected a recovery from the cyber incident reported last year. Volumes improved across the UK and overseas markets, while trading conditions remained challenging in China.

Volumes in the US remained steady and accounted for around one-third of JLR's total wholesales.

The combined wholesale mix of Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and Defender stood at 77.6% in Q2 FY27, compared with 76.7% in Q2 FY26.

However, JLR's total retail volumes declined 7.46% YoY to 79,000 units in Q2 FY27. Retail volumes in China fell 40.59% to 6,300 units, mainly due to the cessation in June 2026 of locally produced vehicles by the CJLR joint venture.

In the Middle East, ongoing disruptions affected overseas wholesales on a sequential basis, although retail volumes indicated that underlying demand remained strong.

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles (formerly Tata Motors) is one of India’s leading automobile manufacturers, offering a diverse portfolio of cars and SUVs renowned for their design, safety, and performance.

The company reported a sharp 80.25% decline in consolidated net profit to Rs 775 crore in Q1 FY27 compared with Rs 3,924 crore posted in Q1 FY26. Revenue from operations increased 9.26% YoY to Rs 95,799 crore in the quarter ended 30th June 2026.
