Quick Wrap: Nifty IT Index rises 3.02%, NIFTY jumps 1.30%

Nifty IT index closed up 3.02% at 28574.9 today. The index is down 1.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Persistent Systems Ltd gained 5.52%, LTM Ltd jumped 3.96% and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd rose 3.85%. The Nifty IT index is down 20.00% over last one year compared to the 10.57% decline in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty FMCG index added 2.20% and Nifty Services Sector index added 1.63% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 added 1.30% to close at 22520.45 while the SENSEX added 1.23% to close at 72472.33 today.
