Local stocks trade flat

The key equity barometers traded flat in early trade. Nifty opened at 24472 and hit a high of 24473 in first half hour of trade. Nifty 50, Nifty Auto and Nifty Bank shares advanced. At 09:30 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, down 187.90 points to 77,966.35. The Nifty 50 index 0 points or remained flat to 24,435.95. The broader market performed better than frontline indices. The BSE 150 MidCap Index posted modest losses of 0.02% and the BSE 250 SmallCap Index edged lower by 0.27%. The market breadth was unfavorable. On the BSE, 0 shares rose and 0 shares declined. A total of 5322 shares were unchanged. Nifty 50 index remained flat. The index has risen slightly by 0.93% in last one month and edged lower by 0.21% over last one year. Asian Paints, remained flat, led the losers followed by Cipla, remained flat and Eicher Motors, remained flat, respectively. Out of 50 index constituents, 0 are reporting loss today. Nifty Auto index remained flat. The index has risen 8.83% in last one month and spiked 23.08% over last one year. China’s Shanghai composite is marginally higher by 0.42%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is marginally lower by 0.06%. Japan’s Nikkei 225 is sharply higher by 1.77%.
