HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd consolidated sales down 35.66% on year in Q2FY2026, net profit soared by 22.85%

HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd share price declined by 0.09% to Rs 530.0 after the company's net profit jumped 22.85% to Rs 611.19 crore, while revenue from operations plunged by 35.66% to Rs 16727.63 crore in Q2FY26 over Q1FY26.


The market capitalization of Life Insurance industry group stocks on BSE stood at Rs 9.94 lakh crore, plunging by 16.46%. It has eased by 2.01% over last one week and edged lower by 6.75% in last one month while the market capitalization of HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd has softened by 5.32% and 7.07% in the same period respectively.


Profit before tax (PBT) of HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd stood at Rs 677.13 crore in Q2 FY26, advancing by 12.14% year-on-year, and expanding by 26.17% quarter-on-quarter. EBITDA came in at Rs 334 crore, surging by 21.70% YoY and nosediving by 204.63% sequentially.


Total expenses witnessed a sharp rise of 68.10% to Rs 33252.7 crore in Q2FY26 over Q2FY25. During the quarter, employee benefits expense was at Rs 921.92 crore, dipping slightly 4.75% YoY.


For the TTM ended FY26, revenue from operations advanced 11.35% to Rs 77760.49 crore, while net profit saw a mild growth of 5.61% to Rs 1912.32 crore, compared to previous TTM. EBITDA jumped by 36202% to Rs 209.35 crore, and PBT witnessed a strong rise of 59.50% to Rs 2057.17 crore compared to previous TTM.



HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd tumbled by 29.96% in last one year, underperforming the benchmark BSE Sensex which has softened by 9.45% during the same period.
