Biocon Ltd consolidated sales down 4.29% on year in Q2FY2026, net profit tumbled by 31.12%

Biocon Ltd share price ticked higher by 0.51% to Rs 425.15. The Company's net profit plunged by 31.12% to Rs 136.8 crore, while revenue from operations eased by 4.29% to Rs 4291.8 crore in Q2FY26 over Q1FY26. The market capitalization of Pharmaceuticals industry group stocks on BSE stood at Rs 24.82 lakh crore, rising 5.25%. It has improved by 0.41% over last one week and climbed by 11.45% in last one month while the market capitalization of Biocon Ltd has softened by 1.32% and 11.72% in the same period respectively. Profit before tax (PBT) of Biocon Ltd stood at Rs 127.6 crore in Q2 FY26, surging by 31.68% year-on-year, and nosediving by 48.44% quarter-on-quarter. EBITDA came in at Rs 793 crore, jumping 15.49% YoY and tumbling by 18.09% sequentially. Total expenses posted a minor rise of 0.66% to Rs 4036.2 crore in Q2FY26 over Q2FY25. During the quarter, cost of materials consumed stood at Rs 1424.1 crore, inching up 4.81% YoY, while employee benefits expense was at Rs 916.1 crore, ticking higher by 0.44% YoY. For the TTM ended FY26, revenue from operations rose 11.48% to Rs 16779.9 crore, while net profit tanked by 74.20% to Rs 368.8 crore, compared to previous TTM. EBITDA witnessed a strong improvement of 222680% to Rs 3112.8 crore, and PBT collapsed by 76.26% to Rs 447.9 crore compared to previous TTM. The company's consolidated net cash flow from operating activities stood at Rs 1994.0 crore in FY26, as against Rs 4061.2 crore in FY25. Biocon Ltd jumped 11.16% in last one year, significantly outperforming the benchmark BSE Sensex which has slipped by 3.20% during the same period.
