Copper shows slight moderation but is up 5.50% this month

COMEX Copper futures eased a bit, pausing around two-month high amid weak equities. The red metal currently trades at $5.12 per pound, down marginally on the day but is up 5.50% this month. In Asia, China's Shanghai Composite index fell around 1% as China imposed broad restrictions on rare earth exports while Hong Kong's Hang Seng index lost 1.73%. Japan's Nikkei index dropped 1% as well. European stocks fell amid French political worries. The US stocks eased a bit yesterday with DOW shedding around half a percent.
