Base Metals Preview: COMEX copper stays largely flat

COMEX copper futures are seen largely flat on Wednesday morning in Asia just under $6 per pound mark. Dollar index stood unchanged at around 98.54 and the major averages on Wall Street ended the day narrowly mixed. While the Nasdaq inched up 1.16 points or less than a tenth of a percent to 22,697.10, the Dow edged down 34.29 points or 0.1 percent to 47,706.51 and the S&P 500 dipped 14.51 points or 0.2 percent to 6,781.48. The red metal is currently quoting at $$5.93 per pound, down 0.25% on the day.
