Hot Commodities: Silver hits one-week high as traders eye key US data

Silver extended gains above $51 per ounce on Tuesday, supported by dovish comments from Federal Reserve officials that boosted hopes of an early rate cut. MCX December silver futures climbed 1.7% to ₹157150 per kg, though still 7% lower than the October record. The dollar index hovered above 100 in a steady range as traders awaited fresh cues. Investors are now watching upcoming US data including retail sales, the producer price index, durable goods orders and jobless claims to gauge the short-term direction for precious metals.
