Currency Buzz: INR supported in steady trades as local stocks edge higher

Indian Rupee edged up modestly today amid rising local equities. INR is currently trading flat at 90.68 per US dollar, up 6 paise on the day. The US dollar index rose from two-week low this week but stayed flat around 97 mark today. Meanwhile, the key domestic indices ended with modest gains today, extending their advance for the second consecutive session, supported by buying in index heavyweights and strength in the broader market. The Nifty ended above the 25,700 level.
